A purely Japanese-style ryokan, including the Day-trip Onsen Ryuguden Main Building, a superb day-use hot spring bath with a spectacular view, built in 1938 as the Hamanako Hotel. The ryokan has had a storied history throughout the Showa, Heisei, and current Reiwa period. It was moved to this location on the shores of Lake Ashi in Hakone several decades ago. Today, the Ryuguden quietly welcomes visitors, offering a peaceful Japanese atmosphere.

Hakone has been called the inner parlor of the ancient capital Edo, and has flourished as a place of great significance in the hearts of the Japanese people for hundreds of years. Ryuguden is a purely Japanese-style ryokan located by the shores of Lake Ashi. Every room has a view of the majestic Mount Fuji and magnificent Lake Ashi. Relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery as it transitions from dusk to early morning. Special room with an private hot spring bath
Only three Japanese-style rooms with an indoor hot spring bath are available in the Ryuguden Annex Building. Their spacious interiors, 13 tatami mats (19.5 m²) in size in the main room and 8 tatami mats (12.5 m²) in the secondary room, can accommodate up to 5 guests. All rooms are on the lake side, offering magnificent views of Lake Ashi and the Outer Rim of Hakone surrounding the lake.

These Japanese-style rooms with two beds feature a main room of 12.5 tatami mats (19.5 m²) in size and a wide veranda (indoor veranda).
The beds have a luxurious airweave mattress, for a comfortable sleep.
Enjoy the scenery that changes with the seasons from your room: cherry blossoms in spring, the lush outer rim mountains in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and snow in winter.
