Experience Dynamic Play that Truly Lives up to its Name Ryuo The Dragon King
Ryuo Golf Course is conveniently located 3 km from the Ryuo interchange on the Meishin Expressway. The town of Ryuo is located in the Koto Plain in the southeastern part of Shiga Prefecture and is surrounded by two mountains: Yukinoyama to the east, and Kagamiyama to the west. These mountains are also known as the "Dragon King Mountains" because the dragon god was enshrined in them, and this is also the origin of the town's name. The area, which is mentioned in the classical Japanese text known as the Kokin Wakashū, is rich in nature and full of historical romance, and the beautiful scenery here, which transforms with the seasons, is an attraction in itself. Ryuo Golf Course, located at the foot of these sacred mountains that have been watching over this area for eons, is truly situated in a powerful location. The course features magnificent fairways that live up to the name "Dragon King," allowing golfers to enjoy making shots to their heart's content.
A Waterfall Awaits Players on this Short Hole
Among many amazing holes, the short 16th over a water hazard is the course's signature hole. The gently downhill tee shot is designed to make players aim at the base of the pin for a birdie, but the water surrounding the green adds pressure and makes this difficult to achieve. This hole also has a natural waterfall that is tucked away in the back right alongside the green. Will this waterfall, which guests have named Seiryu no Taki (Limpid Waterfall), bring luck to the players? The result is the demand for a tee shot that tests your eye for club selection, taking wind direction and distance into consideration, as well as your mental ability to visualize a positive trajectory toward the pin.
